|Bio||Pastor Knauff is a native of Ohio but claims Baltimore, MD as his home. He is 1954 graduate of Baltimore City College, and earned his BA degree from Capital University, Columbus, OH in 1958. He was certified for ordination into the Lutheran ministry upon completion of the Masters of Theology degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, (Columbus) in 1962. In 1968-69, he did post graduate work in social ethics at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Pastor Knauff completed his student pastorate work at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Butler, PA.(1960-1961) His first call was to Raleigh, NC where he was the Mission Developer/ first Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church (1962-1968). Other congregations served were Resurrection in Weirton, WV (1970-1977) and Hope Lutheran, Annandale, VA (1977-1999). After retirement from full time ministry, he served an 18 month Interim as Pastor of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Centreville, VA. Since 2009, he has been on the Pastoral staff of Lord of Life.
Pastor Knauff married Yvonne Rogers of Bethesda, MD in 1958. They have three married sons, 8 grand children and 4 great grand children.
Pastor Knauff has served on the boards of Lutheran Social Service/NCA, National Lutheran Home, Capital University Board of Trustees and NOVACO. Currently, he serves on the Global Mission Committee of the Washington, D.C. Synod of the ELCA and is the liaison to our Companion Church in Namibia and he is the chair of the Chesapeake Area Program for Capital University,
Pastor Knauff enjoys saltwater fishing, gardening, reading and travel, both domestic and foreign ….and, most of all, his relationships with people.
