Congregational Support

Helping Hands seek to demonstrate our love and care to people in our congregation during family illness or emergency.

Stephen Ministers offer a one-on-one caring relationship to those who are hurting from needs such as hospitalization, grieving a loss, a job crisis, experiencing divorce, lonely, or just looking for a caring, Christian friend.

Everyone goes through difficult times. Having someone to care, to listen, to share God's love with you can help you get through the confusion, stress, or loneliness you may be experiencing.

Stephen Ministers have completed 50 hours of Christian care-giving training providing distinctively Christian care with strict confidentiality for the person. Stephen Ministers normally meet once a week with the care receiver.

Church Wide Fellowship

Wednesday Night Dinners – Prior to worship during Advent, Lent, and Summer Nights, we gather to share a meal. (Fairfax and Clifton)

Special Events/Receptions – Events during the year such as picnics, Oktoberfest, spaghetti dinners, and dinner theater.

Small Group Fellowship

Keenagers – A group of people in the 50 plus generation who are known to have "retired," or who it is thought, might be free enough in their work schedules to take an invitation seriously for the possibility of some new experiences, projects, tasks, or even adventures. We look for opportunities to be together for fellowship, visits, trips; and to enjoy one another's company.  We have shared many meals, visits to curious and unusual places, trips to New York, Lancaster, etc., concerts, plays, sightseeing....Come Join Us!

Dayspring –This is a gathering of women of all ages who meet on Tuesday mornings in the Fairfax Campus Parlor, from Sept. to early June. Prayer is very important in our lives and we come together to share our concerns, lending our prayer support to one another during the first part of our time. Our programs include Bible studies sometimes videos, as well as a variety of fun time, our annual spring tea and Christmas white elephant exchange are special events. Our fellowship extends to the kitchen where we help prepare a Lenten supper and Advent dinner. We are on the lookout for simple crafts and program ideas are welcome. We sponsor a child in Haiti and look for ways to serve our church and community. The coffee and teapots are always on and rotating hostesses bring weekly treats. We would be happy to have you join us and meet more people from Lord of Life.

Women’s Group –A group for women of all ages who meet on Tuesday mornings at the Clifton Campus for Bible study, crafts and fellowship.

Sunshine Seniors- Sunshine Seniors are an ecumenical group of senior citizens from Lord of Life and other congregations who gather twice a month at Lord of Life for a meal and fellowship. They generally meet on Wednesdays at the Fairfax Campus. 

Men’s Breakfast – Meets the third Sat. of every month at the Clifton Campus  for Bible study, breakfast and fellowship.

Singles – A group of middle age adults who enjoy getting out, doing things, and having fun.  People that believe in fellowship. service and Christian principles, who are in search of being with others and making life more fulfilling.  Contact Rick Jorgenson at 703-323-7586 for more information.
